MORE ABOUT ME

From a young age, I was involved in several different competitive sports but I ended up gravitating towards gymnastics. I competed as a gymnast for many years until I got to an age where I grew out of the sport to be competitive. My passion for gymnastics remained, so I transitioned from an athlete to a coach and fell in love with the coaching role.

As I moved into a different season of life and enrolled in university, I stepped away from living a healthy, active life and lost touch with my athletic side. During this time, I gained weight, lived an unhealthy lifestyle and struggled to cope with my anxiety. I knew I could be a better version of myself, but I didn’t know how.

In 2017, I had a breaking point where I was sick of my own excuses. I made a promise to dedicate 5 months to becoming a healthier version of myself. My goal at the time was to lose weight but little did I know that one decision would completely change my life. After being consistent with the gym and my nutrition for five months, I lost 17 pounds and fell in love with living a healthy lifestyle. During my first year of my fitness journey, my only goal was to lose weight and I got obsessed with constantly trying to shrink myself. I restricted my food intake, cut food groups out and did excessive amounts of cardio. This led to a plateau in my physical progress.

As I continued to learn more about strength training and nutrition, I learned the importance of fueling my body with quality, nutritious food and training for performance. This discovery led me to constantly pushing myself and seeing progress, which in turn, completely changed the game for me. My goal changed from wanting to be a shrunken version of myself to becoming a powerful woman who admired her strength. I started setting small goals for myself and each time I hit those goals, I built more and more trust in myself. By building trust in myself, I cultivated this drive and determination to constantly work and improve myself in all aspects of my life. I've gained a whole new appreciation for taking care of my mind, body and soul, holistically.

I am now 5 years into my fitness journey and I have completely transformed my body and mind. What started out as a goal to lose weight turned into a lifelong commitment to becoming the strongest, healthiest and most confident version of myself. Through my personal experience and my science and nursing background, my goal is to enlighten others and help them reach their own fitness and lifestyle goals.
